The WCAT is not only building up skill, attitude and work ethics among the students but also teaching the value of hard work for developing confidence in their ability to take care of themselves.

One of them is Aviation market, which is growing at a rapid pace, new aircrafts are being inducted into service, more air routes are being opened and open sky policy has encouraged new operators. Private & Civil Airlines are catering to the interim of country and also operating overseas augmenting their existing fleet. This phenomenal growth in aviation industry in India has resulted in developing a huge market for civil and private airlines. This in turn is creating a great demand for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers for maintaining and servicing of the fleet.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering assumed great importance due to sudden increase of number of aircraft and airlines, thus creating a large demand for aircraft maintenance engineers. Realizing this, SGI initiated Wingsss College of Aviation Technology (WCAT), Pune approved by Director General of Civil Aviation, imparting training in Mechanical (both fixed wings and rotary wings) and Avionics streams having 60 seats in each course, eligibility criteria being 50% marks in 10+2 level.
Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering and Maintenance Engineering Institutes have excellent academic infrastructure, qualified faculty and hostel facilities. The placement cell is very active and provides 100% assistance in placements.

Aeronautical Engineering and Research Organisation (AERO), a constituent part of Shastri Group of Institutes, promotes education, training, research and development, collaboration with Industry and educational institutes in all fields of aviation in India and abroad. Keeping in view of the high growth rate in aviation industry, AERO in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University, has designed and developed BTech Aerospace Engineering course which is being delivered in face-to-face, on campus mode, across 12 institutes spread over the entire country with enthusiastic response from the student community.

In Pune the course is delivered by Indian Institute for Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology, which is the flagship institute of SGI having own aircrafts, helicopter, engines, avionics, instrumentation and communication laboratories, wind tunnels and laboratories for other supporting subjects. International students studying Aerospace Engineering at SGI are from Bangladesh and Sudan. The institute has 120 intake capacity for the course which is the highest in the country. The eligibility criteria is 55% marks in PCM at 10+2 level.

AERO is presently collaborating with universities in UK for blended learning in Aerospace Engineering and Maintenance Engineering at Undergraduate & Post Graduate level.
